Tour text information
We start our journey in Augrabies at a perfect setting for a true Boesmanland experience, next to the Orange River. We will spend the night around a campfire getting to know each other before embarking on our exiting journey ahead.
The next morning sees us heading towards our next campsite, with exiting stops along the way.
Our campsite for the evening will see us having a truly remote and solitary wild camping experience, sunsets and sunrises, wide-open spaces, blue skies, desert colors and unique beauty.

Waking up to a glorius sunrise, we have to leave this remarkable place and venture further into the Karoo, slowly making our way towards the famous renowned Protea Motors. Making a stop along the way at a local restaurant for something to eat and drink.
Driving the Doornrivierpass, we will reach our glamping campsite for the evening, located in the heart of Nieuwoudtville, known as the bulb capital of the world. Our campsite is the perfect gateway to a new stress – free secret base on a remote camp, where you can enjoy yourself in a private wood-fired hot tub, and braai some Sheep Sausage Rosemary Infused Boerewors, which is available on order.
The next day we will make our way towards the Tankwa - Karoo National Park, it’s a place to marvel at the richness of the Succulent Karoo Biome. The park protects one of the most starkly beautiful tracts of the Tankwa Karoo and is well worth visiting for several reasons, amongst them is the koppie-studded, moon-like landscapes, diversity of succulent plants, and fine Karoo birding.
The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including Cape Mountain zebra, springbok, red hartebeest, gemsbok, and eland. The park has a long history of human occupation, from the San people who were here in the Early, Middle, and Late Stone Ages, to the settlers’ farmers who started to arrive in the mid-18th century.
Next on our adventure is nothing other than some Stargazing! We travel via the Oubergpass to what is known as the coldest place in South Africa, where we will be camping under the stars. You will see more lights in the sky in one night than you could count in a lifetime. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a stargazing session, as this is included in the tour price.
We start the next day by driving the Verlatenkloofpass towards our next destination.
Along the way we will make a few stops and pick up some traditional “roosterkoek” from one of the locals.
Our private “Wild Camping” campsite for the evening is located on a farm on the famous Cape Route 62 and is surrounded by the majestic Swartberg mountains in the heart of the Klein Karoo.
Today we make our way further down Route 62, where we will stop at some interesting places, like Gypsy’s Gin Bar, Deli & Restaurant and much more.

We will be spending the evening on a macadamia nut farm situated in the Cloete’s Mountain Pass.
You can wonder through the macadamia nut plantation or take a leisurely walk in the mountains around the farm where the veldt is covered in a large variety of fauna and flora.
The last two days will be spent in the Mossel Bay area, giving you the opportunity to explore the coastline. There is a lot of activities on the menu, including driving the dunes at Vleesbaai, swimming in the ocean, Shark Cage Diving, skydiving, scuba or deep-sea fishing, horse-riding, take a tour of the caves, game drives, boat cruise and much more.
